Bryant Barber Academy combines structured online coursework with required live instructor-led sessions, practical skill development, assessments, discussions, and instructor-verified academic hours. Students progress through the program by completing required coursework and meeting academic and hour requirements.

The 1,500-hour Registered Barber curriculum combines barbering theory, safety and infection control, hair and scalp care, shaving, haircutting and styling, business preparation, and South Carolina State Board preparation.

Submit the required student permit documentation for processing with the South Carolina Board of Barbers Examiners. Your student permit must be issued before you are considered enrolled for Board purposes.

The Registered Barber program requires 1,500 approved program hours. Bryant Barber Academy uses a 38-week administrative schedule, with 40 required hours during Weeks 1–37 and 20 required hours during Week 38.
Yes. Students are required to participate in 6 hours of live instructor-led instruction each week, scheduled as three 2-hour sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Day and Evening sections are available.
Yes. A student permit issued by the South Carolina Board of Barbers Examiners is required. Applying to Bryant Barber Academy or making a tuition payment does not mean your permit has been approved. You are not considered enrolled for Board purposes until the student permit has been issued.
Pay-in-full tuition is $5,000 with no $150 application/enrollment fee. Installment options include $132 weekly for 38 payments, $264 every two weeks for 19 payments, or $625 monthly for 8 payments, plus the $150 application/enrollment fee. Tuition assistance may also be available for eligible students.
Program hours are not awarded simply for logging in or marking lessons complete. Bryant Barber Academy reviews required coursework, live participation, practical work, assessments, discussions, and other weekly requirements before program hours are approved and credited to your student record.
After completing the required 1,500 approved program hours and Bryant Barber Academy’s completion requirements, your record moves through graduation review and State Board preparation. Completing the school program does not itself issue a barber license; students must complete the applicable South Carolina licensing requirements.
